This will be the first of 3 tournaments to come this year.

http://www.age3clan.com/hope/tournament/cup/

The total prize money will be 1500$ + courtesy of Jamie and Matsujun. (Although this is subject to a possible increase)

Please read the following carefully as the rules may seem complicated at first sight.

Sign-Ups:
Sign-ups are to be conducted via the sign-ups forum. You can only sign-up once to play on one account. You can only sign-up for yourself. Full instructions on how to sign-up can be found in the Sign-Up section.

There will be 96 slots for players. (Subject to a possible increase, depending on the number of sign-ups)
Players will be distributed into 16 groups.
The groups will be region dependant.
This will be known as the groupstage.

Scheduling your games:
All players will be required to schedule their games in our scheduling forums. Please read the scheduling guidelines topic that is pinned in each of the scheduling forums - it sets out the proper method for scheduling a game.

Adherence to round dates:
If you and your opponents fail to play any or all of your games, an administrative decision will be made as to who proceeds to the next round. This decision will be based upon who made the most effort to schedule and play the games.

Disputes:
If you have any disputes, send a private message to your "Group Admin" rather than post it in the forums.

-------------------

The Groupstage:
Each player must play one match against all the other players within his group.
One match will consist of 2 games (BO2); thereby making a draw possible.
All games must be played using the FP 1.2 Competitive Maps Set.
Win = 3 points
Draw = 1 point
AW lose / lose = 0 point

Civilizations:
- You are not allowed to play the same civ twice against the same player.
- Overall: You are not allowed to use a civ more than twice in all games of the groupstage (in 10 games against 5 players).

After all the games have been played; players who finished 1st and 2nd respectively will advance to the Final Tournament. Players who finished 3rd and 4th respectively will advance to the Secondary Final Tournament. Top 30 seeds will not be permitted to enter the secundary tournament.

The Final Tournaments:
Both tournaments will consist of 32 players and will contain the same rules. Both tournaments will also include a loser bracket.
Round 1 and 2 will consist of BO 3 matches.
Quarter Finals will consist of BO 5 matches.
Semi Finals will consist of BO 5 matches.
The Finals will consist of BO 7 matches. (WB-Finals / LB-Finals / Grand-Finals)
All games must be played using the FP 1.2 Competitive Maps Set.

Knockout match format - Please read carefully
Each player is required to post within the start of their schedule topic a number of civilisations they do not want to play. This number will depend on the number of games in the round:
BO3 - 7 civilisations chosen not to be played by each player.
BO5 - 5 civilisations chosen not to be played by each player.
BO7 - 3 civilisations chosen not to be played by each player.

In the first game of the matchup, players may choose any civilisation excluding the ones chosen not to be played.
From the second game onwards, the loser of the previous game may choose the matchup to be played excluding civlisations chosen not to be played, which were stated in the schedule topic.
Players may play a civilisation once per matchup only.*

Behavior and attitude:
Flaming, in any case, disrespect towards admins or other players, racist acts outside or during games will not be tolerated. Any form of these things is enough to get kicked from this tournament and any further tournaments!
This also means that if we know you are being a complete jerk in any other tournament, this can have consequences for new tourneys or different tourneys.

Prizes will be distributed using Paypal. We accept no responsibility for any loss of funds in transfer. Funds can only be distributed using Paypal.

Players must claim their prize within 60 days of the conclusion of the tournament. Claiming of prizes is defined as having provided the site administration with their Paypal account details, and having then received the prize. The conclusion of the tournament is defined as the time at which the final tournament results are posted in the 'Site News and Rules' forum. If they have not claimed the prize within 60 days, their prize will be reintroduced to the tournament fund and will no longer be available to them.
